Dr. Beth Bynum is an applied research psychologist specializing in selection for mission-critical roles, performance assessment, and educational testing. She is the Director of Business Development for Public Sector Talent Management at HumRRO, where she identifies and evaluates opportunities, builds partnerships, and strengthens HumRRO’s market presence in the public sector talent management domain. Her work spans high-stakes, large-scale assessments for employee selection, professional credentialing, K-12 education, and graduate school admissions. Dr. Bynum’s recent work focuses on developing AI assessment development methodologies, including creating an agentic AI framework for intelligent, automated assessment deployment. This research emphasizes establishing AI frameworks with foundational I-O assessment principles and guardrails to ensure the resulting assessments are valid and reliable, even as the technology evolves. Dr. Bynum served as chair of the American Psychological Association (APA) Committee on Psychological Tests and Assessment (CPTA) from 2023–2024 and currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Business and Psychology. In recognition of her contributions to the field, SIOP recognized Dr. Bynum with the prestigious Distinguished Early Career Contributions–Practice Award in 2019.
