Dr. Cari Miller is co–Founder and Senior Researcher at the AI Procurement Lab, a non–profit dedicated to establishing best practices for buying and managing 3rd party AI solutions. As a globally recognized expert in advanced AI governance, AI procurement practices, and Automated Employment Decision Tools, Dr. Miller also serves in additional fractional roles as an adjunct instructor at Wilmington University teaching AI and Leadership in the Doctorate program; a member of the AI Ethics Board at Alexander Mann Solutions; the Co–Chair of the IEEE AI Policy Committee; a Fellow and executive board member at ForHumanity, an international non–profit defining AI audit criteria for high–risk AI systems, where she has developed over 1000 unique criteria for auditing high–risk AI systems; and was a government appointee on the General Services Administration Acquisition Policy Federal Advisory Committee (GAP FAC) selected to advise the GSA on upskilling the Federal acquisition workforce and updating their acquisition practices. In addition, Dr. Miller is a certified ISO/IEC 42001:2023 Lead Implementer, a certified lead AI auditor, and a certified change manager.
Dr. Miller’s research focuses on the impacts of AI on workers, effective governance tactics, and the moderating role of procurement contract clauses. After a 20–year career deeply rooted in data analytics, digital transformation, and change management, Dr. Miller’s research and advisory work continues to focus on the connection between technology implications of data–informed decision making, business goals, organizational design, and proportionate risk management.
