Dr. Charles A. Scherbaum is a Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Baruch College, City University of New York and Senior Scientist at Siena Consulting. He earned his PhD from Ohio University and is internationally recognized for advancing the science and practice of personnel selection, assessment, and development. Dr. Scherbaum is a SIOP Fellow. His research on cognitive ability testing and strategies to support validity while reducing group differences has received major honors, including multiple M. Scott Myers Award for Applied Psychology in the Workplace from SIOP and repeated Innovations in Assessment Awards from the International Personnel Assessment Council. He is the lead author of the book titled Cognitive Ability in the Modern World of Work from the International Test Commission’s book series. A trusted expert, Dr. Scherbaum advises the U.S. Department of Justice, the EEOC, and civil rights organizations and has served as an expert witness in numerous employment discrimination cases and consent decrees. Dr. Scherbaum has consulted with both private and public organizations such as the United Nations, UNICEF, and the NFL on a wide variety of human resource-focused services.
