Kris Saling is a people analytics practitioner, author, and HR technology leader whose career sits at the intersection of data science, human capital strategy, and organizational transformation. A newly retired Army Colonel, she spent the past ten years applying analytics to talent decisions at scale, building and commanding data-driven HR programs across one of the world’s largest and most complex workforces, the US Army. There she operationalized people analytics capability at the enterprise level into an institutional practice embedded in how leaders make decisions about people. Her book, Data-Driven Talent Management (Kogan Page, 2024), translates that experience into a practical framework for HR practitioners navigating an increasingly AI-mediated talent landscape.

Today, Kris leads the federal HR and workforce transformation practice at IBR, where she is building the infrastructure, partnerships, and capability pipelines that will shape how federal agencies approach workforce analytics and AI integration in the years ahead. She is also an Executive DBA candidate at the University of Miami Herbert Business School and publishes The Talent Code, a Substack newsletter on the future of work and human capital strategy.
