Reese McGillie is Director of People Intelligence at the Gates Foundation, where she leads four teams spanning people analytics, HR business analysis, HR global operations, and recruiting operations. She specializes in positioning workforce intelligence as a strategic lever to navigate institutional change and environmental disruption with clarity and intention.
With nearly six years at the Gates Foundation and almost two decades of experience building and leading data and analytics teams at global organizations including Weber Shandwick, Dentsu, and Tinuiti, Reese brings a practitioner’s perspective grounded in evidence-based approaches to organizational transformation, change management, and leadership effectiveness. Her current focus is on harnessing AI to enable transformation while preserving the human experience — prioritizing evolution over extraction. She believes data, insights, and technology drive the highest value when they enable the shared understanding that makes change and impact possible.
Outside of her foundation work, Reese channels her expertise in data, strategy, and insights into community service. She has served as a board officer for several community-based organizations including Open Arms Perinatal Services, Valley Cities Behavioral Health, and Community Passageways. She is drawn to helping fledgling organizations that are finding their footing and trying to maximize their impact amidst an increasingly complex external environment.
