Richard Klimoski is an Emeritus Professor of Psychology and Management at the Costello School of Business at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. Before moving to Mason, he was in the faculty of the Ohio State University. He has had Visiting Faculty appointments at the University of Manheim, Michigan State University and the University of South Florida. Over his academic career he held numerous administrative roles including that of Vice Chair of the Department of Psychology at Ohio State and the Dean of the Costello School of Business. Trained as an Industrial and Organizational Psychologist, Klimoski’ s teaching and research centers on managing the human side of work organizations, especially through effective leadership, leadership development and the involvement work teams, including senior leadership teams. Accordingly, he has published numerous books and journal articles on these topics and has consulted with work organizations with the goal of promoting employee wellbeing and corporate success. Klimoski is a Past-President of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and past Chair of the Human Resource Division of the Academy of Management. He also served on the AOM Board of Governors. He is a Fellow of SIOP, of the American Psychological Association, the Academy of Management and of the Association for Psychological Science. He has held numerous editorial roles including that of the Editor of the Academy of Management Review, Associate Editor of the Academy of Management Education and Learning journal, Associate Editor for the AOM Collections and the Editor of the Organizational Frontiers book series sponsored by Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, in addition to being on numerous journal Editorial Boards. He currently serves as a Trustee of the SIOP Foundation, Easter Seals Foundation for the Greater Washington Baltimore Region and the Workhouse Arts Foundation. He resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
