Dr. Sara Gutierrez is Chief Science Officer at SHL and a recognized leader in the field of Industrial-Organizational Psychology. With more than 20 years of experience advancing assessment science and practice, she leads SHL’s global science strategy at the intersection of psychometrics, AI, and talent decision-making.

She currently leads multidisciplinary teams developing next-generation assessment approaches, including conversational and AI-mediated assessment experiences designed to reflect how work is increasingly performed in modern organizations. Sara has led the development and validation of large-scale talent assessment solutions used by organizations around the world and has been a prominent voice on the responsible use of AI in high-stakes talent decisions. Her thought leadership spans topics including candidate experience and next-generation assessment design, fairness in assessment, neurodiversity and accessibility, , human-AI collaboration at work, and the future of talent measurement in AI-augmented environments. As both a scientist and practitioner, Sara remains focused on driving impactful solutions that address modern business challenges while harmonizing technological advancements with evidence-based practices.
