Dr. Sekou Bermiss (pronounced: say-koo burr-meese) is an Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr. Bermiss conducts research in the area of strategic human capital management where he explores the micro-foundations of competitive advantage by studying how a firm’s ability to compete is driven by their strategies to acquire, develop, and retain human capital. He is a Research Fellow for the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise and International Fellow for the Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation.
His research has been published in various academic journals and highlighted by Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, the Wall Street Journal, and National Public Radio.
Before entering academia, Dr. Bermiss worked for Deloitte Consulting in New York City.
