Tariq Shaban is Director of Assessment Science & Innovation at Miraai. An applied researcher with a broad international career, he specializes in psychometric assessment, AI-driven talent acquisition, and data-informed performance management, with experience designing high-impact talent solutions for leading global organizations across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. His current research sits at the intersection of psychometrics and AI and spans both ends of the assessment lifecycle: the automation of item generation, Situational Judgment Tests, and broader test development workflows on one side, and synthetic-respondent methodologies, advanced scoring, and fairness in algorithmic assessment on the other, alongside model-agnostic behavioral approaches to detecting and deterring AI-assisted cheating. Prior roles include Senior I/O Psychology Consultant at HireVue and Director of Applied Research & Assessment Development at Podium. Tariq holds a Master’s in Applied Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Colorado State University and a Master’s in Strategic Human Resource Management from the University of Wollongong, and is completing a Professional Certificate in Data Science and AI at Harvard University.
