SIOP hosted its 40th Annual Conference earlier this month at the Colorado Convention Center, in the vibrant city of Denver, Colorado. More than 4,300 registrants explored professional development and networking opportunities, educational presentations and posters, and the exhibit hall during the conference.
“The conference this year was inspiring and energizing,” said SIOP Conferences and Programs Officer Emily Solberg. “It was wonderful to watch attendees share their research, make meaningful connections, and cultivate fresh ideas and insights for future work.”
This year’s conference featured many of the offerings attendees are accustomed to, including four consortia for students and early career I-Os, Preconference Workshops, and Friday Seminars. New this year were Research Community Forums, an opportunity for individuals with similar interests to connect and experience meaningful research collaboration.
The SIOP Commons was also reimagined this year and featured a table with SIOP membership and new website technology information, including participation in live updating to Community Hub profiles; a book table where members could promote their books; a scavenger hunt to get attendees engaged in conference features; and the first SIOP Annual Conference signed attendee poster along with a new poster for this year’s event, which provided an opportunity for attendees to leave their signature for future attendees to see.
“The 40th SIOP Annual Conference in Denver may well go down as one of the best ever,” said Conference Chair Jack Kennedy. “A full program of symposia, panel discussions, posters, practitioner forums, and sponsor showcases facilitated sharing the cutting edge of our science and practice. The Annual Conference also provided opportunities to renew old friendships, create new ones, and build our professional connections. All of this was the outcome of the hard work of a large group of dedicated volunteers and committed SIOP staff.”
SIOP Program Chair Joe Allen added, “Amid ongoing challenges in both higher education and the broader economic landscape, including those stemming from the federal government, the dedication and efforts of our members resulted in an exceptional conference experience. Attendees noted that the educational programming enriched their engagement with diverse topics and facilitated meaningful connections with new collaborators. The session content and dynamic interactions sparked insightful questions, lively discussions, and innovative ideas—many of which are expected to evolve into future collaborations, research projects, publications, and conference submissions.”
Don’t forget to pop in and note any session materials or contact information you want to save before Whova closes April 30.
SIOP thanks the 42 partners who supported this year’s conference. Our platinum-level partners (who spent more than $25,000 each on advertising, exhibiting, and sponsorships) were Deloitte, Hogan, PDRI by Pearson, SHL, and Valence.
Planning for the 2026 SIOP Annual Conference, which will be held April 30-May 2, 2026, in New Orleans, is already underway, and the Conference Committee will hold its summer meeting in July. More details about the look ahead to 2026 will be shared this fall.
