Join us, the Department of War (DoW) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), for our June 9 webinar featuring the Army Research Institute (ARI)’s Dr. Jonathan Kochert, a top subject matter expert in the field of industrial/organizational psychology, who will discuss ARI’s successful effort to rapidly develop two new military occupational specialties (MOS) to address shortfalls in Army recruiting. After receiving this assignment as part of a Secretary of the Army task force, Dr. Kochert led his team to swiftly identify the core knowledge, skills, abilities, and other personal characteristics that would be most critical for the positions, then developed an executable assessment and selection strategy. Within five months, the team transitioned the assessment battery for use in the selection of the Army’s first talent acquisition warrant officers. The stand up of the new “420T/42T” MOS is helping the Army meet its recruiting goals with a leaner recruiting force, allowing more NCOs to remain in the fighting force.
