SIOP is now accepting nominations through 5 p.m. ET on September 25 for Executive Board positions. Elected officials will serve a 3-year term starting in April 2027.

President-Elect
The President-Elect appoints the chairs of all committees for the next administrative year unless otherwise provided in the Bylaws or other SIOP policy. In some cases, committee chairs-in-training are appointed. Additionally, the President-Elect is responsible for on-boarding new members of the Executive Board and training of committee chairs. They serve a 3-year term in the form of President-Elect, President, and Past President.

Member-at-Large
A Member-at-Large serves a 3-year term on the Executive Board and engages in ongoing coordination with other board members to ensure that the Society pursues objectives specified in its strategic plan. They act as a fiduciary to steer the Society toward a sustainable future by adhering to financial management policies that ensure the Society has adequate resources to advance its mission.

Finance Officer
The Finance Officer serves a 3-year term on the Executive Board and provides executive oversight of the Society’s financial activities, including taxes, audits, budgets, and financial projections. In collaboration with the Finance Manager, they prepare financial reports for Executive Board meetings and help ensure the Society’s financial practices align with its governing policies and support a sustainable future. The Financial Officer also serves as an ex-officio member of the SIOP Foundation Board of Trustees.

Diversity and Inclusion Officer
The Diversity and Inclusion Officer serves a 3-year term on the Executive Board and provides executive oversight of Society activities and programs that promote diversity and inclusion within SIOP and the science and practice of diversity and inclusion. The officer works closely with committees focused on ethnic minority affairs, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, international affairs, military and veterans inclusion, diversifying the I-O profession, women’s inclusion, and disability, inclusion, and accessibility. They coordinate with committee chairs to advance goals aligned with SIOP’s strategic plan, monitor committee activities and budgets, and bring significant accomplishments, issues, and action items to the Executive Board.

Nominations are an essential part of ensuring strong leadership for the future. SIOP elections are focused on positive and civil communication. Fairness and openness are greatly valued during this process. These fundamentals reflect and amplify the positive culture of I-O psychology as a profession.
