The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Board on Human-Systems Integration (BOHSI) will host a webinar on November 18 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Eastern. The webinar, Workforce Monitoring, Trust, and Algorithmic Management, will examine how organizations use operational data, productivity measures, and algorithmic tools to oversee and manage work, particularly in safety-critical and high-consequence environments. The webinar will explore different approaches to workforce monitoring and their implications for employees, the effects of continuous monitoring on trust and behavior, and the ways performance metrics or automated management systems may create unintended incentives. It may also address transparency in data collection, governance of workforce information, and broader human factors implications across sectors such as aviation, healthcare, logistics, hospitality, and other operational settings.
