Got Visibility? Thats the question that Visibility Committee members asked SIOP attendees in Los Angeles. I-O psychologists explored individual strategies to increase the visibility of their research and practice in a panel discussion. Gaining Visibility for Your Work: Learn from the Experts was chaired by
Wendy Becker and Mary Kelly and featured Bill Byham, Leaetta Hough, Frank Landy, Ed Salas, and
Ben Schneider. Strategies from the session are written up in an article by Clif Boutelle in the current issue of
SIOP will sponsor a fall consortium for leading-edge thinkers, researchers, HR executives, and philosophers. Leadership at the Top: The Selection, Globalization, and Ethics of Executive Talent will take place at the Westin St. Louis, St. Louis, MO on October 2829, 2005. The programming committee consists of

SIOP is represented by Nils Olsen at monthly meetings of APAs Decade of Behavior. This is a multidisciplinary initiative to focus the talents, energy, and creativity of the behavioral and social sciences on meeting significant societal challenges. Several current initiatives may be of interest to SIOP members:
The Decade of Behavior Research Award recognizes high-caliber research that has had a demonstrated impact on policy or society at large, has contributed to the use of social and behavioral science knowledge in policy settings, or has enhanced public understanding of behavioral or social science principles. Up to five research awards are given annually. The theme for 2005 is safety.

The Decade of Behavior Distinguished Lecture Program offers support for major addresses that stretch the boundaries of traditional disciplinary focus and that promote a cross-disciplinary approach.
