Conference Week Begins Today

The 36th SIOP Annual Conference is underway, featuring a plethora of high-quality educational sessions and community-building networking and social events.

“SIOP Season” began in mid-March and extends through early May, but today marks the start of Conference Week, with highlights including:

The Welcome Reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. CT on Jackson Square in the virtual venue, accessible via Whova. Top Posters will be viewable from 6 to 6:30 p.m. CT in Poster Room A. Dynamic academics and practitioners will compete in game-show-like fun during “SIOP in NOLA Squares,” hosted by Tori Howes, beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m. CT.

To start enjoying the conference, you will need to be a paid conference registrant and log into Whova, the primary conference platform and the access point for all conference content, including educational programming and networking opportunities. You must sign into Whova with the email address you used for SIOP conference registration (other email addresses will not provide access). Visit the How to Conference webpage for more information.

This year, there are three main types of educational presentations:

  • Live Poster Sessions and on-demand posters
  • Live Sessions. Interact with presenters, ask questions, even participate in breakout discussions during live sessions. Some of these sessions will be recorded for access in Whova later, but the live option is only available once.
  • Asynchronous (Prerecorded) Sessions. Access these presentations on demand as your schedule permits. More than 150 sessions are available to be viewed in Whova at any time, in any time zone.

View the online schedule or program summary for more information.

New this year is a unique Closing Event, generously sponsored by Hogan Assessments, which will follow the Closing Plenary on Saturday, April 17. You can also add a little NOLA flavor to your conference experience by visiting our NOLA Local Flavor webpage or participating in our first-ever virtual Frank Landy 5K Fun Run.

You can learn more about these and other conference events in the Show Daily, which will be emailed to all members and conference registrants Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings. In addition to daily conference highlights, we’ll also have features on upcoming events and other exciting SIOP news.

If you need support during the conference, please select one of the following options:

  • Email siop@siop.org
