Ambassador Program
This subcommittee provides first-time Annual Conference attendees with an optional program to support their experience. The Ambassador Program pairs newcomers with experienced conference-goers (Ambassadors) who provide advice on how to get the most out of the conference. The program typically provides information on the conference website, conducts a virtual session before the conference, hosts the Newcomer Reception, and leads a meeting for newcomers and ambassadors to connect on-site.
Conference Engagement
This subcommittee supports an enriched Annual Conference experience by focusing on curating events and activities to engage and connect attendees outside of the programmed sessions. Examples include virtual networking sessions before the conference, book lunches, pro-social activities, and a talent variety show.
Conference Experience Needs
This subcommittee annually reviews conference engagement needs, synthesizing survey data, reviewing web data and resource usage metrics, to identify gaps or emerging topics where additional resources or programming are needed. Insights identified by this group highlight unmet needs, guide updates to the attendee experience, and support the Annual Conference Experience Committee’s annual strategic planning.
Consortia
This subcommittee is responsible for inviting speakers and curating content for the Consortia provided at the Annual Conference. Currently, these focus on four diverse stages of professional development: Master's, Doctoral, Early Career Faculty, and Early Career Practitioner. The consortia are “add-on” events typically conducted just before the start of the Annual Conference.
Research Community Forums
This subcommittee is responsible for inviting speakers, collecting proposals, curating content, and providing networking/brainstorming activities for Research Community Forums. The Research Community Forums are “add-on” events typically conducted just before the start of the Annual Conference. Currently there are five different forums.
