Disability, Inclusion, and Accessibility
This subcommittee focuses on supporting and championing disability and disability identity within SIOP and the workforce. They work to enhance accessibility within SIOP by advocating for inclusive events, resources, and training programs. Through mentorship, educational initiatives, and community-building efforts, this subcommittee fosters connections among members with disabilities and allies. Data-driven insights inform strategies to improve accessibility and inclusion in I-O Psychology.
Ethnic and Minority Affairs
This subcommittee is tasked with advocating for the interests and inclusion of racial and ethnic minorities within SIOP and the field of I-O psychology. The work of the subcommittee advocates for the inclusion and advancement of racial and ethnic minorities in I-O psychology. Through programs and activities such as climate surveys, awards recognizing contributions to racial equity, and a research match program, the subcommittee fosters collaboration, supports scholarship, and promotes meaningful change within SIOP and the field.
International Affairs
This subcommittee is responsible for increasing awareness, fostering collaborations, and sharing knowledge relevant to I-O psychology in an international or multi-cultural environment. Their core work includes connecting SIOP members to other worldwide organizations with similar purposes and sharing relevant research to further workplace science in a variety of cultures. They foster international collaboration in I-O psychology by supporting research, facilitating global engagement, and recognizing outstanding contributions. Through grant reviews (IRC grant), award decisions (International Best Paper/Research), and conference participation, the subcommittee promotes cross-border knowledge exchange and advances the field through international partnerships and research excellence.
LGBTQIA+
This subcommittee is responsible for encouraging research on LGBTQIA+ issues and promoting the LGBTQIA+ voice within SIOP. The core work of the subcommittee includes supporting a mentorship program, driving education and research of issues, informing best support practices to the workforce, and reviewing for related awards. They foster collaboration among leaders, communities, and policymakers to address real-world workplace issues by translating I-O psychology research into actionable solutions. By strengthening SIOP’s infrastructure, promoting inclusion, and advancing lifelong learning, this subcommittee aims to drive impactful change, inspire dialogue, and build future I-O capabilities.
Military and Veterans Inclusion
This subcommittee focuses on understanding the career needs for the growth, transition, and maintenance of those in the military, veteran, and military family populations. The work of the subcommittee advances research, collaboration, and job placement initiatives to support military personnel and veterans within the field of I-O psychology. Through outreach efforts, including an annual November “takeover,” and partnerships with senior military I-O leaders, the subcommittee promotes inclusion, awareness, and cross-sector collaboration to enhance career opportunities.
SIOP Diversifying I-O Psychology (DIP) Program
This subcommittee is dedicated to promoting diversity in the field of I-O psychology by enhancing the diversity of students applying for and being admitted to funded doctoral programs in I-O psychology. The Diversifying I-O Psychology (DIP) Program aims to increase representation of students historically underrepresented in funded I-O psychology doctoral programs (e.g., Black, Latinx/Hispanic, and Native American students). Through mentorship, research experience, and professional development, DIP strengthens applicants' qualifications, fosters inclusivity, and expands diversity within SIOP and the broader I-O psychology field.
Women’s Inclusion Network
This subcommittee focuses on issues related to women's treatment, inclusion, and experiences both within SIOP as an organization as well as within the field of industrial-organizational psychology as a whole. The subcommittee fosters mentorship, inclusion, and equity within I-O Psychology. The work of the subcommittee supports professional development through mentorship programs, advocates for inclusive conference resources, and enhances accessibility via the SIOP Caregiver Support Grant. Through collaboration and research, the subcommittee advances gender equity and fosters a supportive professional community.
