Fred Oswald, PhD, is a professor of I-O psychology at Rice University. With his graduate students, his 150+ publications address the substance and psychometrics of employment and educational tests, as well as how AI affects the worker, workplace, and workforce. Currently, he is incoming Editor in Chief of Psychological Methods and outgoing Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Psychology, as well as having served as Associate Editor at 7 other journals, and as a current or past editorial board member across 20 journals. Currently, he also chairs the Board on Human-Systems Integration (BOHSI) at the National Academy of Sciences, while serving as the APA representative of the Management Committee for the revision of the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing. Recently, he advised the White House as a member of the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee (NAIAC, 2022-25), also having served in the past as SIOP President (2017-18) and in many other SIOP leadership positions. For APA, he served as Chair of the Board of Scientific Affairs (2022), Chair of the Open Science and Methodology Committee (2021), and Chair of the Committee on Psychological Tests and Assessment (2018).
