Richard is the John P. Campbell Distinguished Professor of I-O Psychology at the University of Minnesota, where he studies technology in I-O, focusing mostly on games, gamification, and artificial intelligence. Richard has worked with a variety of technology and consulting companies for academic research or as consulting clients through his business, Landers Workforce Science LLC, which mostly advises on or conducts audits of selection systems incorporating artificial intelligence. Prior to his role in the Presidential Trio, Richard sat on the Executive Board and, before that, served as Program Chair for the SIOP Annual Conference. Outside of I-O, Richard is an instrument-rated private pilot, flying a Piper Dakota all over the Midwest, and he also is an enthusiastic but intermediate skier, often seen chasing his kid with a GoPro down ski hills in Minnesota.
