SIOP publishes three book series: the Organizational Frontiers Series, the Professional Practice Series, and the Organizational Science, Translation, and Application Series. All are designed to advance the science and practice of I-O psychology. They do not involve any royalties or honoraria for volume editors or book chapter authors. A volume editor is primarily responsible for the vision of a book, managing authors of book chapters, and reviewing chapters for content.
The first two series are currently accepting pre-proposals:
- The Organizational Frontiers Series, co-edited by Bradford S. Bell and Georgia T. Chao, provides the latest information on emerging and evolving research topics in I-O psychology, organizational behavior, human resource management, and related fields. Recent volumes include Transformative Work Design, Computational Modeling for I-O Psychologists, and Senior Leadership Teams and the Agile Organization.
- The Professional Practice Series, edited by Doug Reynolds, profiles the latest evidence-based practices and explores topics related to the practice of I-O psychology to solve pressing talent management issues. Recent volumes include Case Studies in I-O Psychology: Practical Applications of Science, Evolving the Employee Experience, The Social Capital Imperative, and Becoming a Talent Magnet.
If you are interested in editing a book for one of these series to help advance I-O psychology, please submit a pre-proposal in the following format:
- Working title of your book, your credentials and contact information, and the targeted SIOP book series. You cannot submit the same pre-proposal to both book series.
- Brief description of your book and how it contributes to I-O psychology.
The pre-proposal is limited to 1 single-spaced page (12-point font with 1-inch margins), not counting references, tables, or figures. Pre-proposals that are favorably reviewed will be invited to submit a full proposal. Please send your pre-proposal to jbaker@siop.org.
The third series, Organizational Science, Translation, and Application, encourages collaboration between I-O psychologists and other researchers to address phenomena related to work, working, employee health/well-being, applied measurement, and talent management. Recent volumes include Sustainable Development Through the World of Work.
