SIOP and its members are ideal resources for relevant, accurate, and timely information about I-O psychology, and members of the media regularly turn to us when working on articles related to workplace issues.
The opportunity to work with reporters in this way is just one benefit of SIOP membership. If you are interested in promoting I-O psychology by talking with reporters, please log into your membership profile and make sure you have opted into the Media Resource Directory. It is also important that you have current Areas of Interest noted in your profile as reporters use this information to find the best subject matter experts for their articles.
Reporters can access the Media Resource Directory on their own, but they can also call the SIOP office directly. If you are well-versed in and passionate about a specific area of I-O psychology, in addition to noting it in your member profile, email Senior Brand and Content Strategist Amber Stark, who maintains a list for media inquiries and other opportunities for members to share their subject matter expertise.
Awareness of I-O psychology has been on the rise thanks to articles written by and/or featuring SIOP members, and we often share them on our social media, in the SIOP Source, and in TIP. We scan the media on a regular basis for these mentions, but sometimes articles fall through our net. If we’ve missed your media mention, please email it to astark@siop.org.
