SIOP is pleased to announce that SIOP Fellow Rodney Lowman has been elected as Member-at-Large to the American Psychological Association (APA) Board of Directors for a 2026-2028 term.
Lowman earned both his MA and PhD from Michigan State University in I-O psychology and clinical psychology, and also holds a psychology BA from the University of Oklahoma and a business BS from Oklahoma State University. He has been both an academic and a practitioner throughout his career, holding various roles including academic leader, president, consultant, researcher, and author who has written and edited 21 books, a number of book chapters, journal articles, and edited journals. Rodney has served as the editor of several versions of SIOP’s Ethics Casebook, served as Council Representative to APA twice, and also was a chair of the Professional Practice Committee.
Per the APA’s website, The Board of Directors consists of the APA officers—president, president-elect, past president, recording secretary, treasurer, and chief staff officer (without vote)—six members at large elected by and from the general APA membership, the chair and chair-elect of the Council Leadership Team, the past chair of APAGS, and a public member. The Board members also make up the governing board of APA Services Inc., a 501(c)6 companion organization.
