SIOP is proud to announce that SIOP Fellow Elizabeth Kolmstetter has been appointed to the American Psychological Association (APA) Advocacy Coordinating Committee (ACC) with a term starting in January 2026.

The ACC is responsible for evaluating and prioritizing advocacy goals with respect to impact on both the discipline of psychology and the professions of psychologists in scientific, educational, public interest, health service practice and applied practice settings. The ACC gives recommendations to the APA Board of Directors for biennial advocacy priorities.

“I am genuinely excited to serve on the Advocacy Coordinating Committee and look forward to acting as a liaison with SIOP. Now more than ever, our professional voices matter, and our expertise in I-O Psychology can significantly advance the advocacy priority areas,” said Kolmstetter. “We need bipartisan support and solutions to address the rapidly changing policy proposals that threaten the practice, research, and training of psychology. I believe that my 30+ years of public service and extensive experience working with Congress, Congressional staff, and policymakers in Washington, DC, will enable me to support and advise APA Services in promoting scientific, evidence-based policies that benefit psychology, psychologists, and the communities and organizations we serve.”

Kolmstetter’s nomination reflects both her longstanding commitment to advancing psychological science and SIOP’s ongoing engagement in national advocacy efforts. SIOP congratulates her on this appointment and looks forward to the impact her leadership will bring to the broader psychology community.
