SIOP recently issued a statement affirming its support for the use of fair employment practices.

The statement was issued following Presidential Executive Order EO14281, Restoring Equal Opportunity and Meritocracy, and was developed to clarify the Society’s position on Title VII and job-relevant employment practices as related to I-O psychology.

Title VII and Job-Relevant Employment Practices is available in its entirety on the SIOP Statements portion of the SIOP website. The statement highlights:

  • legal and illegal hiring practices
  • merit-based employment practices
  • anti-merit-based employment practices, and
  • uniform guidelines on employee selection procedures.
