We are excited to announce that the updated SIOP Volunteer System (SVS) is now open!
After the SIOP Executive Board redesigned the governance of the Society late last year, there are seven standing committees and 37 standing subcommittees available at SVS open to consider contributing to. If you are a professional member, you can also submit your interest to join an Awards committee when you are in the system.
Now is your chance to sign up for one of the more than 500 volunteer positions that will support SIOP during the 2026 to 2027 year. Committee and subcommittee volunteer service is an impactful way to derive value from your membership by advancing the profession of I-O psychology, developing personal and professional relationships, and supporting the needs of the organization.
To volunteer for the first time OR if you are returning to serve on the same committee as last year, follow these steps:
- Renew your SIOP membership through June 2027.
- Within your Personal Snapshot, take a moment to review your data. The information on your profile will be visible to committee and subcommittee leadership, and you want them to have the most current information about you as they consider you for the work they plan this coming year. Click ‘Edit My Profile’ on the left to submit updates.
- Read about the work the committees and subcommittee are doing to decide where you’d like to serve.
- Follow the instructions in this how-to guide to submit your join request in the system for leadership to review. If you are returning to a committee or subcommittee, please continue to select that same volunteer group until you are accepted.
- Wait to receive feedback from leadership. If you aren’t selected for your first selection, please revisit the SVS to select another standing committee or subcommittee.
The SVS will close on Friday, August 21, 2026, and positions are filled in order of submission through the system, so act fast!
SIOP flourishes thanks to the dedication and hard work of its volunteers. Thank you for your consideration to volunteer!
