Researcher Events & Programming

This subcommittee develops programming that supports the professional development of researchers and the advancement of I-O psychology research practices. Responsibilities include organizing events that highlight emerging research practices, methodological advances, and opportunities for collaboration among scholars. The group may coordinate researcher-focused workshops, panels, or networking events at the SIOP Annual Conference or through other SIOP programming. Activities may also include creating venues for discussing research design, data access, interdisciplinary collaboration, and publication strategies. The subcommittee works with SIOP staff and other committees to ensure programming reflects current issues and opportunities in I-O psychology research.

Researcher Mentoring

This subcommittee develops mentoring initiatives that support the development of SIOP researchers across career stages. The focus is on facilitating connections that support research skill development, collaboration, and career advancement in scholarly work. Responsibilities may include coordinating mentoring opportunities for graduate students, early career researchers, and scholars navigating key transitions such as publishing, grant development, or building collaborative research networks. The team may also develop resources or structured opportunities that support research-focused mentoring, including guidance on publishing, research design, and managing academic or applied research careers.

Researcher Needs

This subcommittee identifies and monitors the evolving needs of researchers within the SIOP community. Activities include gathering and interpreting feedback from members, reviewing participation patterns in research-related initiatives, and identifying gaps in existing resources or support structures for researchers. The group may examine issues such as research collaboration opportunities, access to data sources, methodological support, publication challenges, and the research pipeline for graduate students and early career scholars. Insights produced by this subcommittee help guide the Research Committee’s priorities and inform the development of initiatives that strengthen the research infrastructure supported by SIOP.

Researcher Resources

This subcommittee supports the development and improvement of resources for SIOP members engaged in research. Work includes reviewing and organizing existing resources, identifying outdated or duplicative content, prioritizing updates, and developing new tools, guides, templates, and other content that address researcher needs. Members collaborate closely with the Researcher Needs Subcommittee to ensure updates are data-informed and responsive to researcher feedback. The team also coordinates with staff to identify cross-committee opportunities for co-developed materials.
