SIOP 2004 Expanded Tutorials

On behalf of SIOP and the Expanded Tutorials Subcommittee, I am pleased to announce the Fifth Annual Expanded Tutorial Sessions at the SIOP 2004 conference in Chicago. The goal of the Expanded Tutorials is to provide a more in-depth opportunity to explore an important area of research or a current methodological issue from a scholarly perspective. Thus, they are primarily academic in nature and address state-of-the-art research and theory from the perspective of top scholars.

Topics and Presenters

  • Getting Your Hands Dirty: Academic and Applied Perspectives on Conducting Organizational Research. Elaine Pulakos and Ann Marie Ryan
  • Work Motivation in the 21st Century: Mapping New Directions for Theory and Research. Ruth Kanfer
  • Measurement Invariance: Conceptual and Data Analysis Issues. David Chan
  • Using Conditional Reasoning in Organizational Research. Larry James, Michael McIntyre, and Jose Cortina


Some basic information about the sessions follows. More details regarding the content of the sessions will appear in the January 2004 issue of TIP.

Duration: Sessions are 3 hours long and you can earn three CE credits for attending.

Enrollment: Enrollment for each session is limited to 40 individuals.

When: Sunday, April 4, 9:00 a.m.noon. 

Registration: You must register online or complete the Expanded Tutorials section of the conference registration form and include payment in your total. Registration will be available in January 2004. 

Mark this on your calendar, and remember to sign up when registering for the conference. Historically these sessions have filled up fast, and with this great lineup we can expect the same!
