Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

A Guide for Organizations and Professionals

Diverse team of employeesHistoric and recent events have shined a light on current inequities and injustices related to diverse workers. These events have required organizations and employees to take notice and address the problem of racism and inequities head on.

SIOP members and organizational partners have been studying diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) for many years.  I-O Psychologists specialize in understanding human behavior at work and creating evidence-based practices to help organizations and workers thrive. A collection of resources, backed by I-O science, to help organizations, leaders, and employees address DEI topics across the talent lifecycle can be found below.

Also, this year SIOP, in partnership with the National Academy of Human Resources, released the resourceDiversity, Equity and Inclusion: Perspectives from Chief Human Resources Officers and Academic Researchers summarizing key interviews with Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs), Chief Diversity Officers (CDOs), and Scholars who conduct research in the areas of Diversity & Inclusion providing their perspectives on issues organizations face related to providing equal access to key opportunities, increasing diversity in leadership roles, and creating an environment of trust and belonging – particularly among people of color. Businesses seeking expert assistance in DEI topics to help their organizations and employees can find an I-O psychology professional in the  SIOP Consultant Locator.
