2019 Living History Interview With Dr. Benjamin Schneider Now Available for Viewing

 

Dr. Benjamin Schneider has been involved in I-O psychology for 51 years. Presently, he is an affiliate research scientist at the Center for Effective Organizations in the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He is also a professor emeritus of Psychology at the University of Maryland. Dr. Schneider has written or cowritten and coedited 12 books and more than 175 book chapters and professional journal articles, including “The People Make the Place.”

Dr. Schneider touched on his most-known work, “That was my attempt to take psychological principles, personality, and ask what would an organization look like if the people in it were of a more similar sort than we think happens as a natural course of events.”

The SIOP Living History Series interviews I-O luminaries with the goal of learning from their stories. Videos of past participants in the Living History interview series—Dr. Frank Schmidt, Drs. Edwin Locke and Gary Latham, Dr. David Campbell, Dr. Paul Thayer, and Dr. Sheldon Zedeck—are also available on the SIOP YouTube channel.
