2023 SIOP Annual Conference Save the Date: April 19-22

The 2023 SIOP Annual Conference is 6 months away, and excitement is building!

Submissions and reviewer sign-ups, which were both due Oct. 12, exceeded expectations with 1,231 submissions and 1,147 reviewer sign-ups. These numbers are higher than recent years and indicate energy for the conference.

“I am thrilled to see the level of excitement building for the annual conference as we see higher numbers of submissions than we have in recent years,” said 2023 SIOP Program Chair Enrica Ruggs. “The SIOP Program Committee is working hard to curate an educational program that represents the diversity of topics and cutting-edge research being conducted by our members. We look forward to showcasing much of the great work that is being done in our I-O community.”

Below are five things you need to know to start your planning:

  1. The Opening Plenary will be held in Boston at 7 p.m. EDT Wednesday, April 19, followed by the Welcome Reception. The Saturday Closing Event will end at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 22.
  2. Hotel reservations can now be made at our headquarters hotels, the Sheraton Boston Hotel and Boston Marriott Copley Place, both of which are adjacent to the Hynes Convention Center, our meeting venue.
  3. We have implemented new, longer midday breaks on Thursday, April 20, and Friday, April 21, to encourage lunch with a friend, cruising the exhibit hall, meeting with SIOP colleagues, space to relax and recharge in your guest room, and time to view virtual online poster videos and other virtual program content.
  4. Accommodations and inclusive practices similar to those available at the 2022 SIOP Annual Conference will be available and include arrangements for Ramadan, all faith prayer spaces, a lactation room, relaxation and reflection spaces, dietary accommodations, and gender-neutral washrooms.
  5. We will continue to monitor and adapt to health and safety needs and will share an update in early 2023.

“The SIOP Conference Committee is dedicated to putting on a conference that facilitates knowledge sharing, building connections, fostering inclusion, and inspiring new ideas,” said 2023 SIOP Conference Chair Winny Shen. “We look forward to the participation and engagement of our vibrant I-O community!”
