Now more than ever, artificial intelligence (AI) is quickly integrating with daily life and rapidly advancing at the same time. The efficiency and availability of AI platforms have completely changed the environment of some workplaces almost overnight. Although productivity is an important consideration, it is also essential to examine the effect these innovations may have on the psychological safety of employees.

On Wednesday, August 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET the SIOP Work Smart Series will host The Impact of AI on Employee Psychological Safety. • describe the concept of psychological safety, some of the many ways in which artificial intelligence is being introduced into the workplace, and the intersection of artificial intelligence tools and humans in the workplace.
  • discuss current research exploring interactions between humans and AI, including interactions with AI leaders and colleagues.
  • explain how employees experience AI through an inclusivity perspective and share recommendations for enhancing inclusion when introducing and using AI tools and applications.
  • apply their learnings to case studies and examples to create recommendations for fostering psychological safety in workplaces amidst the introduction of AI tools.
