SIOP 2021 Conference Planning Underway

For 35 years, the SIOP Annual Conference has brought together thousands of I-O psychology practitioners, educators, and students from around the world to network, share knowledge, and form lifelong professional connections and friendships. As COVID-19 has shown us, we never know what challenges are ahead, but SIOP is committed to continuing this valuable tradition of convening and “moving forward,” as President Georgia Chao has envisioned.

The SIOP 2021 conference committee, led by Conference Chair Whitney Botsford Morgan and Program Chair Emily Solberg, has begun planning for next year’s conference, which is scheduled for April 15-17 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.

Personnel selection was and still is the ‘Supreme Problem’ of applied psychology. The main question answered by studies on personnel selection is whether scores on tests and assessments predict work behavior. While this research is important, it does not answer the question if the better candidates get hired. This special issue will explore decision-making in selection and assessment procedures.
