  • 1949: First newsletter published
  • 1962: Name changed to APA Division 14, Industrial Psychology
  • 1964: The first issue of TIP IS published
  • 1973: Name changed to APA Division 14, Industrial and Organizational Psychology
  • 1980: Principles for Validation and Use of Personnel Selection Procedures is published
  • 1982: Division 14 incorporated as the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Inc.
