- 1949: First newsletter published
- 1962: Name changed to APA Division 14, Industrial Psychology
- 1964: The first issue of TIP IS published
- 1973: Name changed to APA Division 14, Industrial and Organizational Psychology
- 1980: Principles for Validation and Use of Personnel Selection Procedures is published
- 1982: Division 14 incorporated as the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Inc.
