This program advances I-O psychology by teaching attendees to distinguish between traditional analytics approaches and a product-centric model, broadening the scope of research impact. Participants will apply user needs analysis to define organizational problems, design minimum viable product (MVP) solutions for people-focused challenges, and outline plans to launch analytics initiatives with iterative feedback. The program emphasizes synthesizing and applying the product lifecycle framework to real-world case studies—leading to comprehensive, actionable solutions. Attendees will also develop personalized plans to integrate a product mindset into their current I-O practice, ensuring practical relevance and job applicability. Selected for SIOP due to its innovative, evidence-based approach, this session equips both members and non-members with new strategies to translate analytics into business value, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and drive effective organizational change—advancing both the science and practice of I-O psychology.
Presenters
Christina Norris-Watts is the head of Assessment and People Practices at Johnson & Johnson. She leads the enterprise-wide selection and development assessment strategy, oversees the organization’s skill strategy, and integrates these into J&J’s workforce and succession planning strategy. With twenty years of experience in talent assessment and management, Christina’s expertise includes assessment, test validation, psychometrics, skills strategy, job analysis, job architecture, training and development, performance management, and organizational analytics. She holds a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Akron.
Marina Pearce, PhD, is an experienced HR leader dedicated to advancing business success through data-driven, user-centric, and scalable people solutions. In her current role as senior director, Workforce Intelligence at Databricks, Marina leads the development of enterprise research, analytics, and insights products – with a strong focus on user-centered design, measurable impact, and AI integration. Prior to joining Databricks, Marina led people analytics, workforce planning, talent assessment, and org effectiveness teams at Salesforce, Stripe, Ford Motor Company, and Liberty Mutual. Marina holds a master’s and PhD in Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University.
