This workshop presents an integrated science-practice perspective on designing and delivering effective leadership development initiatives. Foremost concerns are to identify clearly what matters in enhancing the capacity of individuals to be effective in leadership roles and processes, and in building collective leadership capacity in teams.

This workshop is for anyone interested in leveraging evidence-based practices to enhance the effectiveness of leadership development. Hosted by leading figures in advancing the practice and science of leadership development, this session calls for a shift away from the typical leadership development program structure, to creating leadership development systems. This session expands leadership development beyond the individual and explores how to develop leadership capacity in high performing teams. This session will help participants identify how to properly identify their own individual organizational needs and use evidence to make or buy appropriate leadership development interventions. Key evidence-based best practices and processes will be featured, outlining both the what (content) and the how (methods). Ways to measure and evaluate the impact of leadership development efforts will also be covered.
