This workshop provides talent management professionals with practical ways to spot, assess, and address toxic leadership in organizations. Through case studies and interactive activities, participants will learn how to identify toxic behaviors, understand micro and macro root causes, and implement practical solutions to build more constructive leaders and organizations.
Toxic leadership has a cascading effect in the workplace, deteriorating organizational health, collaboration, employee well-being, and productivity. This workshop focuses on building skills for talent management professionals to recognize toxic leadership patterns, using real-world examples and interactive discussions to illustrate how toxic behaviors and toxic leaders show up in organizations. Participants will learn how characteristics of workplace environments can breed toxic leadership, how to identify toxic leaders, understand what drives toxic leaders, develop and coach toxic leaders, and explore strategies to address these challenges at both the individual and organizational level. I-O psychologists are uniquely positioned to address toxic leadership, and this workshop will enable participants with ready-to-use frameworks to prevent and mitigate toxic behavior patterns. Whether you’re driving talent management initiatives, providing external consulting to leaders and organizations, coaching executives, or leading organization change, this workshop will help provide insights and tools to more effectively address toxic leadership.
