Government Relations Advocacy Team
The Government Relations Advocacy Team Committee supports public policy initiatives relevant to SIOP members and those within the field of I-O psychology. They work closely with external government relations partners and staff to identify and prioritize needs and implement them. Their primary focus is on coordinating activities within SIOP and improving visibility of the field within the federal and local legislation. They coordinate with other groups such as Lewis Burke Associates. A secondary focus of their work is to monitor ongoing federal relationships, such as the Department of Justice – Community Orienting Policing Services (COPS) office. Volunteers with expertise in government processes and policy will find roles within this committee.

United Nations
SIOP's United Nations Committee leverages the rigor, relevance, and reach of industrial-organizational psychology to provide meaningful and solutions-focused guidance when partnering with the United Nations (UN). The Committee assists with UN mandates, including helping to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), by addressing I-O psychology related topics with UN Staff via organizing webinars with experts, producing reports, or providing statements. In addition, we focus on increasing SIOP members' awareness of UN agenda items, the contributions I-Os can make to achieving the SDGs, and awareness and support for the UN Global Compact. Those with expertise or interest in humanitarian work or advocacy are a good fit for various roles within the committee.
