SIOP is pleased to announce that SIOP Fellow Roni Reiter-Palmon has been elected to serve as APA Council Representative for Division 14 for the term January 2027 to December 2029.

Reiter-Palmon received her PhD from George Mason University in 1993 in I-O psychology and her expertise is in creativity and innovation in the workplace, cognitive processes of creativity at the individual and team level, and individual differences and team processes that facilitate creative performance. She is a Fellow of both APA Division 10 (The Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts) and Division 14 (SIOP) and has edited multiple books on creativity, including the Handbook of Creativity in Organizations, and APA Handbook of Creativity (forthcoming). She has received the University of Nebraska system research award, and the Division 10 Arnheim Lifetime achievement award.

Reiter-Palmon has been involved in SIOP throughout her career as a reviewer for the SIOP Annual Conference, a member of the Scientific Affairs Committee, and a member of the Education and Training Committee where she led the Bridge Builder Subcommittee for several years.

Reiter-Palmon’s family has three generations of psychologists (both parents, clinical and school psychology; and her daughter, school psychology).

SIOP is currently being represented on the Council by SIOP Fellows Georgia Chao and Doug Reynolds, whose terms end Dec. 31, 2027, and Reiter-Palmon, whose current term ends Dec. 31, 2026.

Per the APA website, the Council of Representatives is the legislative body of APA and has full power and authority over the affairs and funds of the association within the limitations set by the certificate of incorporation and the bylaws, including the power to review, upon its own initiative, the actions of any board, committee, division, or affiliated organization. The council is composed of representatives of divisions; representatives of state, provincial, and territorial psychological associations (SPTAs); and the members of the Board of Directors.
