Applications to Serve on the Standard Setting Panel for the EPPP Due Nov. 8

The Association of State & Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) is looking for licensed psychologists with I-O backgrounds to serve on the upcoming Standard Setting Panel for the EPPP (Part 2-Skills) examination in January 2024. Below this message is the Call for Volunteers. It provides more specifics for this one-time commitment and a link to some survey questions in Survey Monkey. ASPPB looks forward to receiving applications by Wednesday, Nov. 8. Then, they will send formal invitations after balancing out on professional and demographic backgrounds.

Standard setting is a critical step in the exam development process. ASPPB solicits subject matter experts (SMEs) who understand the competency standards and the performance of test-takers in the subject area to determine the test scores that correspond to specified test-taker performance levels. Standard setting is a two-step process that first requires SMEs to adequately describe the performance levels then review exam items and offer judgement to the likely performance of candidates from those performance levels. Actual exam performance can be also used to help with the expert judgement. Panelists need not have expertise in standard setting. Panelists selected will receive pre-meeting materials and a thorough training regarding the standard setting process at the meeting.

ASPPB Call for Volunteers for the EPPP (Part 2-Skills) Standard Setting Meeting

The Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB), the organization comprised of all the psychology licensing boards in the United States and Canada, is seeking licensed psychologist volunteers to participate in a Standard Setting Panel meeting for the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP). In this meeting, volunteers will help determine the appropriate pass points for the EPPP (Part 2-Skills).

We are in need of doctoral-level psychologists licensed at the independent level as well as masters-level licensees from jurisdictions that allow a supervised practice license in psychology .

Participants selected will represent a range of geographic, work, demographic, cultural, and professional diversities. Early career psychologists are especially encouraged to apply as this group will represent a large portion of the Panel. Individuals should have knowledge and experience in one or more of the domains currently assessed by the EPPP (Part 2-Skills). These domain areas include:
• Scientific Orientation
• Assessment & Intervention
• Relational Competence
• Professionalism
• Ethical Practice
• Collaboration, Consultation, Supervision

This is a one-time commitment. This group will be tasked with reviewing data from the exam form and determining the passing scores for the exam.

The Standard Setting Panel is scheduled to meet once, in person on January 12-13, 2024 (two 7-hour days) at the ASPPB home office in Tyrone, GA. ASPPB will reimburse your travel expenses related to these meetings, subject to the Association's established reimbursement policies.

Interested psychologists and master’s-level licensees should complete the online survey and submit an up-to-date CV no later than November 8, 2023, to Emelyn East (eeast@asppb.org).
