SIOP recently announced its new strategic priorities and objectives designed to shape the future of the Society for the next 3 to 5 years.

These new strategic priorities are:

  1. Research and Practice
  2. I-O Psychology Education and Development
  3. Member Value
  4. Visibility
  5. Vitality

This article is the third of five that will dive into each priority in detail.

  1. Member Value – Deliver meaningful, year-round value that fosters connection, professional growth, and engagement across career stages
3.1. Develop and expand opportunities for meaningful member connection and networking throughout the year
3.2. Provide compelling, evidence-based professional development for members at all career levels
3.3. Broaden the breadth and quality of strategic events beyond the Annual Conference
3.4. Leverage data to continuously improve the Annual Conference to meet evolving member needs
3.5. Strengthen engagement and value for student members to encourage their transition to associate and full membership

The SIOP Annual Conference provides an opportunity for thousands of people interested in I-O psychology to share research, discuss practitioner challenges and solutions, and connect with one another. We will continue to strengthen this flagship event with input from members and attendees. In addition, we will actively create opportunities for ongoing networking and development throughout the year, giving members a compelling reason to make SIOP their professional home across their careers.

The first and second articles in this series are available on our website.

More information will be shared about the remaining priorities here in the Source and on the Strategic Priorities webpage in the coming weeks. Please familiarize yourself with these priorities and follow along in the coming months as we share specific progress made in each of these areas.
