SIOP recently announced its new strategic priorities and objectives designed to shape the future of the Society for the next 3 to 5 years.

These new strategic priorities are:

  1. Research and Practice
  2. I-O Psychology Education and Development
  3. Member Value
  4. Visibility
  5. Vitality

This article is the fourth of five that will dive into each priority in detail.

  1. Visibility – Establish SIOP as the trusted public voice informing how work and organizations are designed, led, and experienced
4.1. Increase demand for I-O psychology by demonstrating its value for workforce and organizational effectiveness
4.2. Advocate for government policies and funding that advance organizational science, worker well-being, organizational effectiveness, and evidence-based practices
4.3. Position I-O psychology as a central voice in shaping the future of work, including workplace technologies such as AI
4.4. Elevate awareness of I-O psychology as an attractive career path
4.5. Create opportunities for professionals in adjacent fields to engage with SIOP through the Annual Conference and other strategic content and events

Beyond services, resources, and events provided for members, SIOP is committed to engaging audiences outside our membership for the benefit of I-O. We will pursue this through outreach to employers, policymakers, and others who may be interested in our field. We seek to be a trusted voice in shaping the future of work in ways that help organizations thrive and support individual well-being.

The first, second and third articles in this series are available on our website.

More information will be shared about the remaining priorities here in the Source and on the Strategic Priorities webpage in the coming weeks. Please familiarize yourself with these priorities and follow along in the coming months as we share specific progress made in each of these areas.
