The SIOP Program Committee is working hard to craft an engaging conference program, continuing our tradition of robust educational content. We look forward to welcoming in-person and virtual attendees to a wide array of sessions at the 2024 SIOP Annual Conference. We anticipate strong in-person attendance in Chicago, and we are dedicated to providing virtual offerings that allow our members to attend, participate, and connect from wherever they are.

Make a Connection Through the SIOP Ambassador Program

Did you know that hundreds of SIOP Annual Conference attendees each year are first-time participants?

As many can recall from their first SIOP Annual Conference, it can be an overwhelming experience, particularly for newcomers. The SIOP Ambassador Program supports our newest attendees by matching them with people willing to share what they’ve learned from past conferences. We welcome both Newcomers (those who are first-time conference attendees) and Ambassadors (those who have attended SIOP before) to join our program.

Serving as an Ambassador is a relatively small time commitment that can have a tremendous impact. If you are a graduate student, recent graduate in academic or applied jobs, or a more veteran SIOP member, please consider showing a first-time SIOP conference attendee the ropes this year! Have you served as an Ambassador before? We would love to have you participate again!

Stay tuned for some exciting changes we are launching for the program this year to make the experience even more engaging.

How to sign up:
Anyone interested in participating in the program as an Ambassador or Newcomer can sign up through the SIOP Annual Conference registration process. If you have already registered for the conference but are interested in participating in the Ambassador Program you can still sign up here

Eligibility:

  • For Newcomers: Anyone who is attending the SIOP Annual Conference for the first time
  • For Ambassadors: Anyone who has attended at least one previous SIOP Annual Conference and who is registered for the 2024 SIOP Annual Conference

Commitment:

  • Matched Ambassadors and Newcomers will actively communicate with one another via email as well as meet by phone or video call at least once prior the conference
  • Schedule a time to meet during the annual conference in April

We’re very excited about the 2024 SIOP Ambassador Program and look forward to your participation!

For more information on the program visit the Ambassador Program webpage or contact ambassador@siop.org.

SIOP Gives Back

The connection between I-O psychology and corporate social responsibility and prosocial activities is strong. Help us live out these ideals at the 2024 SIOP Annual Conference Closing Event where attendees will have the opportunity to build backpack kits and write notes to children and youth in Cook, DuPage, and Lake counties in Illinois and Indiana. This opportunity is made possible through a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago, an affiliate of the oldest, most respected mentoring organization in the U.S. Attendees can also visit the Big Brothers Big Sisters booth in the Exhibit Hall during the conference to learn more.
