Register Now for the Early Career Faculty Consortium

The SIOP Consortia Committee has once again developed four exciting consortia as part of the 2024 SIOP Annual Conference. In this article, we will highlight the Early Career Faculty Consortium, which will provide career-focused activities and sessions for current and future junior faculty.

The 2024 Early Career Faculty Consortium will cover topics such as:

  • Teaching Undergraduate and Graduate Courses
  • Surviving and Thriving Through the Promotion and Tenure Process and Managing Marketability
  • Research and Pipeline Tips & Tricks

The consortium will also include a Journal of Applied Psychology (JAP) Reviewer Bootcamp in which attendees will be paired with associate editors to review a paper and receive feedback to build reviewing skills. This session requires participants to prepare in advance a written review of a paper assigned by a JAP team member. Details will be provided after registration.

The consortium will take place beginning at 9 a.m. CT Wednesday, April 17, in Chicago. The deadline to register for this consortium is March 27.

We highlighted the Master’s Consortium, the Doctoral Consortium, and the Early Career Faculty Consortium in previous issues of the Source. You can learn more about all four consortia on the Consortia webpage.

SIOP Gives Back

The connection between I-O psychology and corporate social responsibility and prosocial activities is strong. Help us live out these ideals at the 2024 SIOP Annual Conference Closing Event where attendees will have the opportunity to build backpack kits and write notes to children and youth in Cook, DuPage, and Lake counties in Illinois and Indiana. This opportunity is made possible through a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago, an affiliate of the oldest, most respected mentoring organization in the U.S. Attendees can also visit the Big Brothers Big Sisters booth in the Exhibit Hall during the conference to learn more.
