SIOP Hotel Room Block Sold Out in

We are anticipating record attendance at our 2004 SIOP Conference in
Chicago
. We are sold out of our room block at all three conference hotels.
None of the three conference hotels (Sheraton, Embassy Suites, Amalfi) is
currently accepting reservations at the conference rate.
If you need to cancel your room reservation at the Chicago Sheraton and
are interested in obtaining a refund of your one-night room deposit . . . please
contact Lee Hakel at the SIOP Administrative Office (419 353-0032). Lee is
talking with the Sheraton about the possibility of providing refunds for those
who need to cancel their reservations and make rooms available to those who are
trying to book a room at the last minute.
If you need to cancel your room reservation at the Embassy Suites or the
Amalfi . . . please consider placing a notice on the SIOP bulletin
board offering your room to someone who is trying to secure a last-minute
reservation at the Conference hotel. We know there are still many people
interested in booking a room at one of these hotels. If you find someone
who is willing to take over your reservation, both the Embassy Suites and the
Amalfi will allow you to change the name on your reservation. Please note
that if no one agrees to take over your reservation, you will need to cancel
your reservation in order to avoid charges to your credit card.
If you are still looking for a room at a Conference hotel . . . please
check the bulletin board to see if anyone is willing to
let you take over their reservation at the Embassy Suites or Amalfi. We
are continuing to negotiate with the Sheraton about accepting additional
reservations, so please check this page again every 1-2 days to see if there are
rooms available at the Sheraton.
Our room blocks are all sold out for Friday April 2nd. Some rooms
are available for Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at each hotel.
IF YOU WISH to book a room for a stay that includes Friday, please go to the
SIOP Bulletin Board. Either leave a
message that you need a room, or contact someone who wants to pass their
reservation on to you.
